"If somebody tells me that what I’m doing is stupid, I want to do it even more. Funny that, isn’t it? Something to do with what I believe in..."
I was born in Poland and most of my childhood I was exposed to free and open countryside, where I devoted most of my free time climbing Tilia trees and playing aliens with my younger brother.
My grandparents built their house which allowed me occasionally to play with the mortar to fill imperfect gaps holding bricks… that is how my attention to detail was born. And details are fascinating, aren’t they?
My story begins with me experimenting as a child, don’t we all? Somehow drawing took the lead and I ended up sketching basically every item in the house, followed by attending after-school art classes.
When I came to London I met my husband who is an architect. I fell in love with his sketch book immediately and I decided to give a chance to Architecture myself. I got in.
In 2007 I joined Hamilton’s Architects to work on Park House in Mayfair. The challenge for me was to learn how to work in a team of talented architects. As I always considered myself more of a solo character, I actually realized that being part of a group is fantastic. Two years later I joined RPA to work collaboratively with a new Park House team, at the same time looking for new inspiring challenges.
In 2011 after three years of working and studying part-time, serious dehydration and fewer grey hairs I graduated with Merits from University of Greenwich and switched to a full-time position in our studio.
What I like at RPA is… putting on a hard hat and going on site… opportunities… great people… and RPA coffee.
