RPP are currently working with the Omani based design studio of 23° North on an exciting environmentally led Masterplan, for a new city in Duqm, a desert landscape on the Arabian Sea, 300 kilometres south of the capital Muscat.
The project has been a wonderful exercise in collaborative working between London and Muscat with a decision scheduled on the winners within the next 2 weeks.
The 23° North studio is led by architects and directors Nadia Maqbool and Stuart Caunt.
Nadia has this week been interviewed by the BBC as part of their 100 Women series. It’s a fascinating discussion and well worth looking up to hear first-hand how Oman’s only registered female architect is leading change within the workplace in this fascinating and culturally transforming country.
