"I enjoy the process of seeing a design evolve through inspired teamwork."
I began my architectural studies at Queen’s University Belfast. After grand tours of Europe and America my post graduate studies took me to the Edinburgh College of Art where I enjoyed inspirational tutorials with James Gowan overlooking the castle.
I moved to Tokyo on finishing college and began my career working on a memorial for a Dadaist poet. I had an amazing year immersed in the culture of Japan; working in five different architectural studios and travelling throughout the country.
Through my origami inspired curriculum vitae I was offered a position at Foster and Partners where I worked for ten years gaining a fantastic experience on a range of public and commercial projects including the commission for a new auditorium at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre where our final pitch included the plea that I should be allowed to spend some time in Glasgow to help convince my girlfriend to move down to London. We now live in a listed house in Camden which we have gradually refurbished over the years.
After finding our first basement premises in Bedford Square, I joined Robin to help establish a practice based on a shared aspiration for a challenging and enjoyable studio environment. I am continuing to help develop our portfolio across a broad range of projects at all stages of delivery.
I relish the variety of architectural practice and the cross fertilisation of ideas between different individuals and background experiences.
