The redevelopment of Parker House, located in the heart of the Seven Dials Conservation Area, has begun on site with Keltbray appointed as the demolition contractor.
The consented scheme retains the brick street façade of the existing building, while demolishing the remainder of the building that once served as a hostel, and in its place inserts a new basement and an additional six levels of residential accommodation, comprising 40 apartments. The two uppermost levels extend beyond the retained façade, step back from site perimeter, and will be clad in copper, whilst elsewhere a contemporary brick seeks to echo the materiality of the immediate context. The scheme also includes 3 affordable units in a mews adjacent to Parker House.
A tight design programme has be achieved by running two teams in parallel; one focusing on securing planning consent and discharge of conditions, with another developing the layouts and look & feel of the apartments in line with the Clients aspirations.
