We are delighted to announce that planning permission has been granted for the relocation of the Pressure Reduction Station (PRS) at Fulham Gasworks.
The existing Pressure Reduction Station, an important piece of local gas infrastructure, is located at the heart of the site close to the Grade-II listed Gasholder No. 2, widely reported as the oldest surviving gasholder in the world. As such, its relocation is required to optimise the redevelopment.
The design seeks to markedly improve the existing streetscape, replacing a series of industrial buildings and metal palisade fencing with a brick enclosure and areas of soft landscaping, more in keeping with the local character of the area.
The new location and design also minimises the impact to both existing and proposed residents having been designed in unison with the wider masterplan, submitted for planning at the end of June.
Full planning permission was granted under delegated powers and following the permission for demolition of the five redundant gasholders and associated structures, is the second vital stage in realising the redevelopment of the Gasworks.
