On Thursday 4th June 20 men and women journeyed to Tufnell Park to play in the most hotly anticipated sporting event of the summer; the RPP boys vs girls netball match. With the boys' stuttering grasp of the rules, the girls made a strong start, scoring 3 goals in quick succession. Flying intercepts, speedy passes and some general disregard of the rules later, the girls were leading 6-2 going into the final quarter.
In the last 10 minutes however the momentum switched and the boys got their act together. Dominating the midfield and following the philosophy of 'tenth rebound lucky' quickly four shots found the hoop and the score was level pegging. After a few tense minutes for the girls and a couple of missed attempts from the boys the whistle was finally blown calling in the draw at 6 goals apiece.
What a show of teamwork and passion, focus and athleticism (and that was just the pub after...). Well done to all those involved, we look forward to the rematch!
