RPA : 007
March 16, 2012
We turned off our computers at 14:00 last Friday for the annual Company Review. Following a presentation of last year’s headlines, the RPA team needed a unique way to cross the Thames for our final destination of a Casino at London’s Cable club located on Bermondsey Street, SE1.
A fleet of black people carriers awaited, taking us all to Embankment pier where we were met by London RIB Voyages crew and four high speed RIB’s to take us on the Ultimate London tour.
Unbeknown to most, much of the River Thames is controlled by speed limits, and safety requirements that affect all boat traffic, so we enjoyed the sights of London at a rather sedate pace (with lots of moaning, made bearable by the presence of ‘comedians’ acting as guides in each boat), but there was a twist......once all four RIB’s cleared London Bridge and hit the tidal pool they floored it, and with each enjoying 400hp of grunt on the back, we soon had the four boats jumping over each other’s swell all the way up to Greenwich and backwith a sound system cranking out classics including ‘The World Is Not Enough’ and ‘Baywatch’!
Having taken the long way around to cross the river, we were dropped off at London City Pier, some rather wet and bedraggled, but all with an insane grin on their faces…with a short walk to the Casino venue where we all learnt to gamble, being taught how to playing roulette and black jack by experts (…clients be warned!)
A huge thank you must go to all of the staff at London RIB voyages and to those at Cable club for making the afternoon so memorable.
