Last night, Westminster City Council resolved to grant detailed planning permission for each of the four remaining buildings proposed for Merchant Square, subject to agreement of section 106 requirements.
These include :
1 Merchant Square, an elegant 42 story mixed use tower incorporating a boutique hotel, private residential accommodation and a Skybar at the top
2 Merchant Square, a 17 story office building, with retail accommodation at its base
3 Merchant Square, a 21 story mixed tenure residential building with a children’s nursery and retail accommodation at its base
6 Merchant Square, a 15 story mixed tenure residential building with retail and medical consulting rooms at its base
“The architectural designs are impressive,” said Alastair Moss, chair of Westminster Council’s planning committee, “They could deliver an iconic addition to London’s skyline and serve as a focal point for Paddington and the surrounding area.”
